(1) MG Marg, Gangtok MG Marg From Hotel Window The first thing which strikes you about Gangtok, especially the MG Marg area, is the riot of colors. People here prefer all sorts of different patterns in bright colors on everything, from their umbrellas (you can hardly find those dull, black ones over here) to their dresses.
And the overall place seems to echo the residents' preference for colors.
(2) Kanchenjunga, Sikkim Kanchenjunga, Sikkim One of my best views of the peak from the road leading to Hanuman-Tok in Gangtok.
The clear weather lasted only for about 2 hours. Next 2 days were cloudy.
It pays to get up early sometimes :)

(4) The Child Monk Child monk at prayer wheels A child monk turning the prayer wheels as he walked down the road at Rumtek Monastery in Gangtok, Sikkim.
The kid actually spoke in Hindi when I expected him to speak in a local language or even English!
